12 Day Tour of Poland

This tour begins and ends in Warsaw. It covers the whole country from the Tatra Mountains to the Baltic Sea. The tour includes hotels for 11 nights and two meals each day.

The tour begins with airport pickup in Warsaw and local tours. The third afternoon drive starts with a stop in Czestochowa to visit the Jasna Gora Monastery and the Black Madonna Shrine. The trip continues on to Zakopane (shown above left), beautifully situated at the foot of the Tatra Mountains. After leaving Zakoplane on the fifth day, stop in Niedzica, famous for its XIV century castle and lake. Then a spectacular rafting trip on the Dunajec River in Pieniny National Park. The raft trip will end in Szczawnica-Zdrój, a famous Polish spa. The afternoon drive is to Krakow.

On the sixth day in Krakow visit Wawel the Royal Castle, home to three dynasties of Poland’s monarchs, old town, St. Mary’s Basilica and Wieliczka Salt Mine, a listed UNESCO World Heritage site. Day seven includes a visit to Family Home of John Paul II in Wadowice and Nazi Concentration Camp Auschwitz-Birkenau. The next day ride Poland’s “Eagles Nests Trail”, famous for a number of Medieval castles and palaces. Visit the Ogrodzieniec castle, called “the most beautiful ruins” in Poland. The day ends in Lodz.

The ninth day includes stops in Lowicz and Toru before arriving at Gdansk and the Baltic Sea. The next morning tours the highlights of Gdansk including Old Town and St. Mary Basilica (shown above right). In the afternoon, visit Sopot the famous Polish spa at the Baltic seaside. The next day the tour stops at Malbork for a tour of the medieval fortress of Teutonic Knights which is the largest brick castle in Europe before going back to Warsaw.
